Interesting article in the Leader the other night about the moving of the Northgate Arena to a site on Sealand Road. Their looking at putting a country park down on the Blacon meadows aswell - lovely.
The bit that caught my eye was that the council were to set up a review group to look into what sports, recreational and lesiure facilities are to be built alongside.
Personally, I think it might be worth a shot at trying to get the council to include a couple of footy pitches with chaning facilities inside the Arena. We are still well short of pitches around here.
Interested to hear your views and if enough people are keen I'll get some details off the council and we can start pushing for it.
Power to the people.

I think the plan is to have astro turf around there, I know that there is going to be a running track!! All makes interesting reading to be honest. Looking forward to see the developments.

Definately worth a go Greeny. As you say, the facilities they provide at the moment are limited.
Always worth reminding the council that there are a lot of people who are involved in saturday/sunday league football, each of whom have a vote. Council elections in May...
