St Werburgh's have officially announced 5 new signings for the coming season to replace the outgoing Daz Jones, Andy Collins and Dale Blythin.
First is Keith Jones, a very experienced defender who joins us from the now defunct Ship Inn. Andy Hardman, a centre back who has just come off active service from the Navy, big, tall and commanding. Matt Rollings, a young right back just starting out in the adult game. Joel Worrall, 16 year old forward who has scored a goal a game in under 16 football from the wing for Vicars Cross last season. Ben Wood, joins us from now section A side watergate (formally ship victory), army lad who is extremely fit and mobile, can play anywhere on the park
Also currently on trial are Harry Olumba, James Whalley and Luke Hughes, who could be signed if they impress in coming friendlies.

Busy in the old transfer market eh Mike?!
It's a similar story for us really mate. Dave Carmen has signed for Saltney Ferry but we've replaced him with IMO the best young striker in Chester in Danny Davies from FC Grosvenor. He is quality and played for Blacon's first team last year and scored fairly reguarly at the age of 16.
We've still got a young squad and are trying to add a couple of "older" heads but it's not easy. Our main advantage this season is that a lot of our lads were having their first season of adult football last year and I expect to see even better performances around. "Pap" Hallal hadn't played 11-a-side before last season and he finished with 8 man of the matches and 16 odd goals. I think he'll be the one to watch this year with a bit more experience.

I have heard about that lad, Peter Hibbert aparently rates him very highly. Very very good signing. We kept 18 lads happy last year in our squad, and we again want to match those numbers. A couple might fall off. Seriously watch for both of us next season mate, I think we will both be up there.

Any more news boys?
We have now signed Andy Collins back on from last seasons squad and Harry Olumba has been signed after his trial.
Luke Hughes and James Whalley failed in their bids to earn a signing on form.
We have had numerous friendlies so far. We lost 3-2 to saturday Werburgh's, beat Wrexham supporters club 8-2, beat the greyhound 6-5, then lost to duddon 6-2 and st theresa's 2-1 before beating Tattenhall 3-2 last sunday.
We have Bache tomorrow, the Bill Gresty Memorial Trophy match vs the Watergate on sunday and then a final friendly vs black dog next thursday.

We signed a couple of midfielders (Ditch getting old now!) and would be happy with a mid table finish. First year in B, I think some of us will be suprised how much of a step up the standard is.
Believe Bears Paw are a bit of a whipping boy outfit though. Didn't someone do them 17-0 last week?
First League meeting this week as well, anybody up in front of the beak?

Boughton put 17 past the Bears Paw in the cup. A lad called Blake Williams got seven - anybody heard of him?
Section B is a definite step up from C. Last year there we're realistically 4/5 sides in with a chance of promotion but I think you're looking at 7/8 in B this season. Waverton are going to be tough to beat, a big side with plenty of old school faces. Quite happy with our start and think once we start firing on all cylinders we'll be there or there abouts.
We've brought in a few new faces this summer with three lads signing from The Waggon Saturday team. Our starting XI generally contains three 16 year olds and two 17 year olds so the signs are good for the future.

Thats not the Blake Williams who plays for Crewe Alex and comes from Chester???
We are VERY disappointed with our start, and surprised with the standard of section B. We lost our first game 3-2 to upton YC, then lost 5-1 to the Bears Paw, even though we were about level on chances made.
We then beat Theresa's in the cup 5-4 before losing 2-1 to waverton last sunday. Waverton are the best team we have played by a long way.
